How to Convert Your Glo, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat Airtime to Cash

Are you in a dire need of some cash? You visited the nearest ATM and the message you got is something like “insufficient balance.” Yes, you are really worth more than what you badly need, but you feel your worth is not really liquid for now. You might be in a remote location, far away from a bank. Or you are nearby a bank but your ATM card is not with you and this is after banking hours, banking halls have been closed. You know what? You don’t have to despair if you have up to a few thousand naira as your airtime credit balance. In other words, if the amount in your account is equal to or slightly above the amount you need, your need for cash is already filled.

All you need to do is know how to convert the amount in airtime to cash. How possible? Gone are those days when someone would send you airtime voucher PIN for you to convert to cash and you’ve got no other choice than to go and ‘sell’ it to phone call vendors who would rip you off, giving you just peanuts. We now have companies that specialise in converting what you have as airtime to liquid cash for your more versatile use.
convert airtime to cash with zoranga

One of those companies is OdeckNetworks. It has a platform through which you trade your Etisalat and MTN airtime to cash. Under that platform, you can also get airtime of either of these networks at discounted rates. So it’s a two-way deal. Once you offer up your airtime for cash successfully, its value will be transferred to any bank of your choice, and that’s in less than 20mins of completion of the transaction.

On that platform, the minimum value of airtime you can trade for cash is ₦4,000.

You should expect this offer to cost something. The cost is between 10-15%, depending on the value of the airtime you are converting to physical cash. This means within 15-20 minutes of completing the transaction, you will be credited with an amount of airtime you offer up, with just 10-15% short of the exact amount of airtime. That’s the charge of conversion.

OdeckNetworks will deduct 15% mile charge (or service charge) from airtime value between ₦4,000 and ₦9,999, while they will charge 10% mile charge for airtime worth ₦10,000 and above. Though they are willing to transfer your money into any bank, their preferred banks are Zenith Bank, GT Bank and First Bank. If they have to transfer your money to any other banks apart from these three, an inconvenience fee of N108 per transaction will be charged.

Zoranga offers solution somewhat better than OdeckNetworks. They extend these services of airtime-to-cash conversion beyond Etisalat and MTN. They are converting also Glo and Airtel airtime into physical cash.

Your money comes to you in two ways. Either through your bank account or through a Zoranga agent near you. You can’t do without these services if you’re building a marketplace, mobile app, online storefront, or offering subscription.

With them you could fund any account in Nigeria without your physical presence in any bank. From anywhere too, you can send money to any Zoranga account.

You will be guided through the following steps if you visit their website, www.zoranga.com. Sign up and complete the process of creating your Zoranga account:

If you want to deposit money from your airtime to your Zoranga account in the home page,

==>1. Click on "Deposit Money."
==>2. In the next options, select "WITH AIRTIME PIN" and follow the instruction. (Please be careful to fill in the correct information.)
==>3. After you have filled all fields, click "Deposit Now." You will receive the message “Transaction complete .“

With Zoranga, apart from depositing “with airtime pin” you can also do so “With ZORAPIN,” though we are not discussing that now.
Zoranga also offers option of transferring or withdrawing money without visiting any bank.

So next time someone gives you a huge airtime or you have enormous balance in your account and you need some cash, you should know that the cash is lying there in your device. Instead of just using it to make unnecessary calls, start viewing any amount of airtime in your account in terms of naira and kobo. The table below illustrates the points above
