*737 GTBank Sms Funds Transfer Explained - GT to GT & GT to Other Banks

Not long ago GTBank launched a first of its kind, GTbank to GTbank and GTbank to other Banks funds transfer via sms on mobile phones, using the USSD code *737* followed by amount and account number (NUBAN) of the beneficiary. Once again, they've proven to truly be the number one bank in not just Nigeria alone but Africa as a whole.

  • NUBAN: Nigerian Uniform Bank Account Number

This as at the time of writing this post, and for a very long time to come, will be considered the smartest, easiest, fastest and most convenient way to transfer money here in Nigeria. As unlike the usual, most widely used mobile banking app, you need a phone that supports the app first, and also internet access to be able to transact with it.

But with this, one can now transfer money, or pay their fees from their gtbank account on Saturdays, Sundays and on public holidays while busy at home, in a traffic jam, school(students), in a zone without internet connection to be able to use the usual mobile banking app or where ever there is voice cal network.

==>You will be required to provide the last four digits of your current GTbank Naira MasterCard to complete the transaction.

To Transfer From GTBank to Other Banks

==> Dial *737*2*Amount*NUBAN Account No# e.g. *737*2*1000*1234567890# from your mobile phone. (This is accessible using all types of mobile phones).

==>You will be required to provide the last four digits of your current GTbank Naira MasterCard to complete the transaction.

==>Wait for the transaction to be completed (takes 10secs)
Note:
==>It is supported by all network
==>For GTBank to GTbank, you are charged N20 and to other banks, an unspecified standard NIP amount is charged.
==>The mobile phone number to use, must be one registered to your GTBank account.
==>It has a minimum transfer limit of N1,000 (lowest you can transfer) and maximum transfer limit of N20,000 (highest you can transfer)

My thoughts
I only wish they could safeguard it from fraudulent activities by making transactions traceable. Should in case people are forced at gun points to transfer their funds to unknown accounts. As this has been happening using ATM cards on POS machines making some thieve to now go around with POS machines. Or what do you think?
